THROWBACK: Debra says goodbye to Condobolin Preschool
JULY 2019:
After 20 years with the Condobolin Preschool and Childcare Centre, Debra Brasnett, is ready for a new challenge.
She will continue her role with MacKillop Family Services supporting families through the assessment and referral of children with additional needs.
Debra was given a fond farewell by the staff and children on Tuesday, 16 July 2019. She received a lovely gift and shared a beautifully decorated cake with everybody.
“Thank you for everything you have done during your 20 years at Condobolin Preschool supporting and caring for the children of our community,” a post on the Condobolin Preschool and Childcare Centre Facebook Page read.
Debra began her career in 1999, when she began teaching on a casual basis as a special needs support worker.
She has always loved being a teacher, and admits it is the children and the joy they bring to her life that keeps her motivated.
“I really do come to work and enjoy it,” Debra told the Argus, when she reached her 15 year milestone. “I really do come to work and have fun.”
“Seeing the joy in all the children’s faces really makes everything worthwhile.” She is still passionate about teaching, and will miss the children and families of Condobolin Preschool and Childcare Centre.
“Thank you everyone for your support over the years and for spoiling me today [16 July]. I am excited to be slowing down to one job but will miss all the friends I’ve made and our beautiful children and their special moments. I won’t be a stranger though and will call in when I’m out and about supporting children and families,” she wrote on a post on the Condobolin Preschool and Childcare Centre Facebook page.
