MANWARING AUSSIE WHITES SET DISTRICT RECORD
Advertorial
Fifty-two scanned in lamb, 10 to 11 month old Aussie White Ewes sold on Auctions Plus on Tuesday, 31 August for $1,205, setting a district record.
The future breeder Australian White Ewes from the Manwaring family of Condobolin were from Tattykeel Blood. They were the top draft of the September/October drop ewe lambs and averaged 61 kilos live weight.
The ewes were scanned in lamb from a 55 day May joining to Tattykeel rams from the 5/5/21 to the 26/6/21, achieving 117% potential lambs.
The Manwaring Family of Condobolin have been using Tattykeel Rams since 2014 and over the years have continually improved their genetics. All good shedding types, averaging 61kg live at assessment.
They were described on Auctions Plus as a rare opportunity to purchase a genuine line of some of the best Ewe Lambs the Australian White Breed has to offer. These Ewes carry our HIGHEST recommendation! Not to be missed!
Jack Piercy of Forbes Livestock said, “It was a credit to the vendors the way they presented these 52 outstanding Australian White ewe lambs for sale, making my job as an agent very easy to achieve such high prices. These prices showing the quality of the ewes the Manwaring’s have produced and continue to produce. The last 6 to 8 weeks the feed in the Condobolin district has really come away as shown by weight and condition these ewes presented in.”
“This season is shaping up to be another magnificent season for both livestock production and cropping enterprise in the Condobolin district. The Aussie White breed is continually a hot topic in the sheep industry with records falling nearly week in week out, and outstanding prices gained for Australian White Commercial ewes with Tattykeel being the highlighted bloodline in the industry.” Jack continued.
When asked for a comment Ian Manwaring said, “In the current conditions, and with the recent sales history of Aussie Whites, we expected them to sell well. We just didn’t expect them to go quite so high. To say we are extremely happy with the results is probably an understatement.”
