END OF AN ERA FOR RHONDA
It was the end of a hairdressing era in Condobolin, when Rhonda Shields handed over the reins of RJ’s Salon on 3 October.
Rhonda has been in the hairdressing industry for over 52 years, and will be leaving her beloved RJ’s Salon, which she established in 1973.
She has operated RJ’s Salon solely for the past 48 years in Condobolin and the surrounding area, contributing immensely to the Condobolin community.
Since the commencement of RJ’s Salon, Rhonda has been involved in training over 17 hairdressers and employing a further nine fully qualified hairdressers.
“It has been a pleasure and an honour to be a part of their growth as professionals.” Rhonda said.
She went on to say “It has been an honour to be a part of my customers’ lives for so many years. Thank you for all of your support”.
RJ’s Salon will close with Rhonda as the owner and will continue under the careful and professional direction of Zoe Lark and Morgan Adams, who have been working with Rhonda since they trained after leaving school.
Many of her long term customers will be glad to know that Rhonda won’t totally hang up the scissors and will still work in the shop but will enjoy more time to spend with her family and friends with a well desired semi-retirement.
