Last Easter the Main Street came alive for Easter
By Anne Coffey
Identifiable wooden tokens were placed each morning (before dawn) throughout the Condobolin CBD between 5 March and 25 March 2024. The tokens were then returned by keen hunters to the LWRS office, in exchange for chocolate eggs.
The token hunts each morning was an enormous hit with the community, with in excess of 70 tokens being collected each day.
The broader engagement that it enabled LWRS to have with community members who do not usually have contact with our services was definitely an unintended benefit, with many parents asking what we do, and finding out the many ways LWRS can support them.
Then on Saturday, 30 March 2024 (Easter Saturday), Courtney stepped out from approximately 4am to place chocolate Easter eggs throughout a large part of the township.
It was one of the most successful events Condobolin has seen, with hundreds of families walking around the town together, on the hunt for chocolate goodies. Many businesses commended our efforts, with some saying that they had never seen the town so busy on a Saturday morning since Target’s closure.can
