From time to time, Cobar Shire Council has to remove trees for various reason, for example, if a tree’s root systems becomes invasive to the town’s infrastructure – such as water supply or when they become hazardous.
Council has an objective, for every tree removed it is replaced with more (in suitable locations).
Councils Parks and Gardens team has been busy planting trees along Mopone Street, where 30 native gums are now located, and in the Jandra Crescent Reserve, where 20 beautiful Crepe Myrtles have been planted.
Council is also actively applying for funding opportunities to not only beautify the town, but also to plant more trees.
