THROWBACK 2020: Photography Competition winners announced
MARCH 2020:
The winners of the 2020 Lachlan Shire Council Photography Competition were announced in March 2020.
Jan Johnson (Animals and People), Stephen Graham (Native Wildlife), Gus Blacker (Typical Farmscape) and Nicole Leighton (People at Play) were the successful photographers.
The Competition received nearly 80 entries, with images covering a wide range of subjects within each category. The competition categories were, Animals and People, Native Wildlife, Typical Farmscapes and People at Play.
Council’s Tourism and Economic Development Officer Debra Keane, who organised the competition, thanked the judges for taking part.
“It was great to have representation from all regions of our Shire,” she said.
“And congratulations to all of our winners. Many of the photos from the competition will feature in our publicity and tourism material. Thank you to all of the photographers that have made the effort to enter the competition. It was a tight competition and there were a lot of very good photographs that just missed out.”
Judges for the competition were local artist Karen Tooth, Western Plains Regional Development Executive Officer Jess Loftus, Lachlan Shire Mayor Medcalf OAM, along with Deputy Mayor Paul Phillips and Councillor Mark Hall.
The winning photos will be displayed in our new promotional ‘Heart of NSW’ brochure.
The brochure will promote the Lachlan region to visitors and let them know what the area, as a small diverse community, are able to offer as an authentic bush experience.
