THROWBACK 2020: Life Membership

OCTOBER 2020:

Local golfing stalwart, Max Johnson has been awarded a Life Membership to the Condobolin Sports Club.
This recognition occurred at the recent 2020 Annual General Meeting of the Condobolin Sports Club, in acknowledgement of his contribution to the organisation and the community.
Mr Johnson joined the Condobolin Golf Club in 1975 after moving from Bombala to manage Berco Wool. After leaving Berco Wool he followed his passion in the wool industry as a shearing
contractor until his retirement from paid work in 2015. Since retiring Max has continued his very busy life helping other people.
Max is a past president of the Club and past Captain of the Golf committee.
During his golf career he has had one “hole in one” so far, was a winner of the Mixed Championships and has won many other club events. Mr Johnson also has had a stellar lawn bowls career
winning many local and regional events.
“As we all know Max’s commitment to the Sports Club is unquestioned, his voluntary work around the club house, bowling greens and golf course is unbelievable,” Condobolin Sports Club
Committee member Mick Hanlon said.
“Most days of the week you will observe Max undertaking voluntary work. “The Sports Club is a fantastic facility which is due to the hard work of our Green keepers and the staff, Max Johnson compliments their efforts and helps to presents the club in the best possible way.
“We would also like to thank Judy for allowing Max to do what he does and for being a golf widow with a
young family in the early days.
“His work is greatly appreciated by all sections of the Condobolin Sports Club.”
