THROWBACK 2019: A very proud finalist

JUNE 2019:

Condobolin’s Lisa McFadyen was extremely proud to be a finalist in the 2019 NSW-ACT Agrifutures Rural Women’s Award.
She attended a gala dinner at Parliament House on Wednesday, 19 June, where Jo Palmer was announced as the winner.
Ms Palmer is the founder of Pointer Remote Roles, based in The Rock near Wagga Wagga, and has been helping professional women in the regions find work from her farm. She received a $10,000 bursary.
A small business owner, Lisa is the founder and CEO of Secure Impact; a rural property and agri-asset marketplace for Australian farmers, which facilitates agricultural farmland and business transition of farms from expansion, purchase, lease, share farm and divestment at retirement.
She is committed to changing the perception around farm transition and believes the key to driving this change is getting farmers to think about the transition process early. Agricultural land is a key asset of a farming operation so there is a need to nurture land ownership changes and transfer into the new millennium.
NSW Minister for Agriculture and Western NSW, Adam Marshall, also congratulated the 2019 NSW-ACT AgriFutures Rural Women’s Award finalists Ellen Downes from Canowindra, Lisa McFadyen from Condobolin and Karin Stark from Narromine, who were selected from an exceptional field of nominees and are leaders and role models for regional NSW.
The finalists all received a $1,000 NSW Government Leadership Skills and Development Bursary.
Ms Palmer will now go on to compete for the National Agrifutures Rural Women’s Award later this year at Parliament House, Canberra.
The NSW-ACT Agrifutures Rural Women’s Award is coordinated by the NSW Department of Primary Industries’ Rural Women’s Network with support from the Country Women’s Association of NSW and NSW Farmers.
