Lake Cargelligo Central School students recently made the Lake Cargelligo community and school very proud.
The five girls competed in the Cattle Junior Judging. This involved students judging 4 bulls and 4 heifers and then the top 8 students (from a field of 40+) were selected to speak on a microphone to convince the audience that their opinion was right. Emmy (Year 10) blew everyone away with her speech after making the top 8.
The school’s bred White Suffolk lambs competed in the Prime Lamb Competition and earned the Heather Howe School Encouragement Award!
“The LCCS Show Team would like to thank Mrs Coughran for helping us transport the lambs and Shantelle for accompanying us and being so flexible and helpful! We would also like to thank Lyn Frecklington and Nathan Leach from Hollywood Angus Stud (Peak Hill) for teaching us how to judge and offering for us to use their cattle – we really learnt a lot!” read a post on the school’s Facebook Page.
The school will be participating in another show in Spring and will be getting some cattle at the school farm.
