Students Attend The Man Cave Workshops

Compiled by Hayley Egan

On Tuesday 5th, Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th May, Ungarie Central School boys in Years 5 – 11 attended The Man Cave workshops.
These workshops aim to foster lasting, positive attitude shifts surrounding men’s mental health.
The boys were split into Years 5/6, Years 7/8 and Years 9 – 11 and each group spent a day engaging with their peers and facilitators Paddy and Ethan.
During the workshops, students were invited to get hands-on exploring concepts of masculinity; the impacts and stigma of societal expectations placed on men and building better relationships with themselves and others.
The Man Cave creates a safe space for students to share, connect and have real conversations with each other through group-building activities, games and open discussion.
The students had a great time with Paddy and Ethan and gained valuable information on how to treat others and becoming someone they aspire to be.
Paddy and Ethan praised our school and the student’s behaviour in the sessions, saying that our school is one of the best they’ve ever been to!
