Storytime fun at Condobolin Library
By Melissa Blewitt
Local children now get to experience the delight of stories, songs and rhymes during Storytime at the Condobolin Library, twice a week.
The ever-popular event is now held on Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am to 11am. Last Friday (7 March) saw regular and first-time participants take part in Storytime.
Children were treated to colourful illustrations and endearing characters Lachlan Shire Library Technician Abby Grimshaw.
They especially enjoyed Supertato by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet, and Too Many Elephants in This House written by Ursula Dubosarsky and illustrated by Andrew Joyner. The children even got enjoy bubble fun during craft time.
The audience was entertained by a spud fulfilling his destiny as a supermarket superhero in this delightfully wacky picture book Supertato is a supermarket superhero with eyes everywhere—always on the lookout for danger. When the veggie aisle is thrown into turmoil by an evil pea, Supertato heroically springs into action! But this very, very evil pea won’t go back to the frozen section without a fight. Will Supertato save the day, or has he Supertato finally met his match?
There are too many elephants in Eric’s house. They were in the living room, in the kitchen, in the bathroom, even in his bedroom! The elephants take up a lot of space, but Eric loves every one of them. So, when his mum says they have to go, Eric comes up with a clever solution to a very BIG problem. There were lots of laugh out loud moments and audience participation on the day.
The community is invited to share storytime fun with their children at the Condobolin Library on Wednesdays and Fridays; and younger children can also be part of Baby Rhyme Time on Fridays from 9.30am to 10am. It’s all fun and the best part is its free!
