ST JOSEPH’S MASS FOR SAINT MARY
On Sunday, 8 August, Australia celebrated the Feast of the Patron Saint of Australia, Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop. The week prior, St Joseph’s Parish School Condobolin as a school community celebrated this special occasion with beautiful Mass. Year Five and Six from St Patrick’s Parish School Trundle were also part of the Mass and joined in Altar Serving with St Joseph’s Parish School Condobolin. Saint Mary of the Cross MacKillop is Australia’s first saint and a teacher. She was also a pioneer and a leader, someone who had compassion for others regardless of their situation in life. Mary believed in the value of education as a foundation for a fulfilling life. Her motto was ‘Never see a need without doing something about it.’ She ministered in many different ways to the poor and marginalised.
