POSTIE BIKES TO PASS THROUGH
There are still hopes that the Late Mail Postie Bike Ride will hit the road in 2020.
The event has plotted a new route which includes Condobolin, after the COVID-19 pandemic ruled out Echuca in Victoria as a destination.
It is set to begin on 11 October and finish on 17 October. Originating in the Central West, this will be the seventh year of the charity event has taken place.
The 2020 ride will begin in Hargraves, head west to Parkes and Condobolin, north through Cobar and Bourke to Lightning Ridge, then back via Coonabarabran to Mudgee.
Even though the event will take place exclusively in NSW, organisers will ensure COVID-safe measures would be adhered to.
The Late Mail Postie Bike Ride is a fundraiser for Wings4Kidz, which provides free transport to medical treatment for children from regional areas.
Over the last six years the event has raised approximately $800,000. So far over $60,000 has been raised for the 2020 ride.
Riders and regular supporters have pledged to do what they can to help make up the shortfall.
