Michael gets nominated

Michael was nominated for Citizen of the Year due to his exceptional contributions to Condobolin and Australia as a returned serviceman and he embodies the highest value of service, sacrifice and courage, having given his time and energy in the defence of freedom. His experience as a soldier has instilled in him a duty to his community and Nation. He continues to exemplify these qualities through his ongoing commitment to Condobolin. As a distinguished Aboriginal Elder, Michael has and continues to serve as a powerful voice for what the believes is right. He has dedicated much of his life advocacy for the rights, wellbeing and cultural preservation. This is demonstrated in the countless hours of community work and strong bond he has with his family, friends and community. His leadership extends beyond works as he has played an active role in creating spaces for dialogue, understudy and reconciliation.
Michael’s continued involvement in the Condobolin community makes him a shining example of citizenship. He has worked tirelessly to support local initiatives, whether it be through mentoring younger generations, providing guidance or participating in local projects. His generosity and commitment to social cohesion not only highlights his personal values but also sets an example on what it means to be an engaged and responsible citizen.
Michael’s life work as a veteran, elder and community leader has earned him the admiration and respect of all who know him.
