Meredith shares Community Service Award
Meredith Ervin (Lake Cargelligo) was selected as a winner of the Lachlan Shire Community Service (Australia Day Award) along with Kathy Parnaby of Condobolin.
The following is Meredith’s summary that was read at the ceremony.
Meredith, who herself is a mother, wife, grandmother and former teacher kept many members of her community connected to their loved ones who lived out of town during the COVID19 Pandemic.
Meredith is considered to be an active member of her community and has always shared her love of music by performing for local drama productions and charity concerts. She conducted the local show and performed with her friend Lan Templeton whenever they were asked to.
Meredith’s altruistic spirit is evident in her extensive volunteer work with the Uniting Church, her Gentle Exercise and Aqua Fitness Classes and Meals on Wheels.
In addition to her community involvement, Meredith is a member of the following organisations – Murrumbidgee Local Health Advisory Committee, Uniting Church, Lake Cargelligo Book Club and the Lake Cargelligo Knitting Group. Meredith is considered to be part of the fabric that makes up the Lake Cargelligo community.
