Lachlan Children Services Preschool and After School Care used a sandpit to build volcanoes, as they prepared to celebrate National Science Week.
They used bi-carb plus vinegar and preschool used some pink food dye to create their volcanoes. National Science Week is Australia’s annual celebration of science and technology.
National Science Week is an opportunity for everyone in the community to talk science, see science and do science.
It runs each year in August. Established in 1997, National Science Week provides an opportunity to acknowledge the contributions of Australian scientists to the world of knowledge. It also aims to encourage an interest in science pursuits among the general public, and to encourage younger people to be fascinated by the world they live in.
