EVOLUTION SUPPORTS BUILDING REPAIRS

Evolution Mining has granted $8,320.00 (GST EX) through their Cowal Partnering Program to support the box gutters repairs in the Lachlan and Western Regional Services building (LWRS) (formerly Western Plains Regional Development) at 18 William Street, Condobolin.
“The Foundation for Rural and Regional Renewal provided $110,000 dollars to repair the box gutters, replace a section of the roof, fix some structural issues with the brick walls, new ceiling tiles and carpet in some areas, in December last year,” said Kathy Parnaby Chairperson of LWRS. This was based on a quote received early last year, and when the roofer requoted costs for the box gutters had gone up substantially.”
“Treasurer Anne Coffey applied to Evolution to fund the increase in the box gutter repairs and thankfully they were able to support us.” Kathy said.
“Renee Pettit, Evolution Mining’s Community Relations Officer, came on Wednesday the 11th to hand over the cheque which we are so grateful for,” Kathy continued.
Anne Coffey, currently Treasurer of LWRS said “We are do lucky to have amazing support form Evolution Cowal over the years. They have funded a lot if programs and building repairs or upgrades for us. In 2017 -18 they funded a solar system on our roof which has saved us a huge amount of money over the years, air conditioners, youth programs such as life Jackets for the Kyack Program and other improvements too many to mention. We are grateful for our longstanding partnership.”
“The building repairs are well on the way to completion with the box gutters, stormwater and roof repair done. We are currently working with Dennis Doyle on the wall repairs. Then it is a case of doing a bit of cementing, new carpets in some rooms that have water damage and new ceiling tiles and thanks to FRRR Future Drought Fund, we won’t know the place.” Anne said.
Lachlan and Western Regional Services is a pivotal service organisation for Lachlan, Grenfell and many Western Shires. They run the Workforce Training Program, Suicide Prevention Trial, Centrelink, Youth Services, Training as Parents, provide offices for visiting services, the Callara Theatre and Bendigo Bank.
They are a registered charity and rely on funding and the money raised through Bendigo, the office hire and the Theatre to fund their ongoing charity work.
LWRS is funded via Lachlan Shire Council, WNSW PHN, The Department of Human Services, FRRR and now Evolution.
“On behalf of the Community we are very grateful for the support we get.” Kathy Parnaby concluded.
