Discovering science at Lachlan Children Services
Lachlan Children Services Vacation Care had a wonderful time discovering science with Sal Russell from Lake Cowal Conservation Centre (LCCC) on Wednesday, 5 February. The session kicked off with an exciting discussion about planets and stars. “The children were fully engaged, exploring the unique characteristics of different planets,” a post on the Lachlan Children Services Facebook Page read. “To bring the solar system to life, they blew up balloons of various colours and sizes, representing the planets. “They even used an app to locate celestial bodies and constellations, which was an amazing experience!” Next, they explored the phases of the moon using a working model, making learning interactive and fun. “The excitement continued as we built rockets and rocket shooters,” the post continued. “To top it off, we created chatterboxes and challenged each other with science questions, making learning both engaging and competitive!” “What an incredible day of fun and learning!” the post concluded.
