The Department of Planning, Industry and Environment – Biodiversity & Conservation, is seeking applications from the community for Membership of the Lachlan Environmental Water Advisory Group (EWAG).
The Lachlan EWAG provides advice to the Department on the use of water for the environment in the Lachlan valley for its water-dependent ecosystems.
Suitable applicants will be able to contribute their local knowledge and relevant experience to guide the beneﬁcial use of water for the environment.
Members will actively participate providing information, analysis and recommendations from their vantage point in the local community or representing a stakeholder group, to assist environmental water managers make adaptive decisions.
Speciﬁc skills and knowledge sought includes Indigenous knowledge, ﬂoodplain and wetland land management, local scientiﬁc knowledge, Lachlan speciﬁc wetland and riverine knowledge including ecological knowledge and related community interests.
Appointments are for up to ﬁve years with quarterly meetings conducted each year and some additional ﬁeld trips undertaken.
Please note that these are non-salaried positions, members will be compensated for their time and expenses in line with NSW Government guidelines.
