Trundle Bush Tucker day

The annual Trundle Bush Tucker Day is once again gearing up to impress taste buds and provide the best in Australian bush cuisine.

With an incredible five band line-up, celebrity guest judges and of course all the bush tucker you could hope for, the event is set to be bigger and better than ever before.

Secretary for Trundle Bush Tucker Day, Lynda Horkings, said there would be something for everyone at this year’s event.

“We’ve got Fast Ed from Better Homes and Gardens,” she said.

“We also have Shane Howard from Goanna playing with his band as well as Tori Darke, Set in Motion, Rock Bottom and Coastal Boot Scooters.

“The entertainment will be going all day, weather permitting.”

Lynda said all the usual competitions would also be on over the course of the event.

“We’ll be having the best designed hat competition, the bushman’s relay, billy boil sprint, national damper throw, yard dog trial and the tug-o-war,” she said.

“We’ll also be having a bush Master Chef which is similar to the television version though the participants will have to work with bush ingredients.

“There will be lots of stalls and the bush cooking competition with $1000 cash prize which has been sponsored by AgnVet.”

Trundle Bush Tucker Day will be on Saturday September 3 and is a no BYO, glass free festival.

Tickets are $70 for families, $30 for adults, $5 for 12 to 17 years and free for under 12s.

Camping is included in the ticket price.
