The Condobolin RSL has become the major sponsor of the Condobolin Rams Rugby League club with a donation of $10,000.
The money has been used to purchase full uniforms and will help pay for administration, insurance and coaching costs for players.
Rams President Bradley Bell was at the RSL last Wednesday to accept the donation on behalf of the club.
Bradley said he was incredibly grateful for the sign of support the RSL had shown the Rams.
“Without this donation we’d be struggling,” he said.
“The money will be spread across the under 19s, the Women’s League Tag and the Senior Side.
“We’ve got six sides in the under 19s; I’m really looking forward to this season.”
Bradley said the jerseys in particular would be of great value to the Rams.
“The jumpers are absolutely great,” he said.
“Everyone’s got the same colours on their gear, including the girls and under 19s.
“The girl’s tag in particular is becoming more popular; they’re really enjoying it.”
Ray Holmes, Condobolin RSL Manager, said in addition to helping the teams out, he also hoped the donation would encourage the community to get out to the games and support the Rams.
“Support is particularly important in the juniors’ league; we need to keep the kids entertained,” he said.
“This sponsorship will be a long term business relationship.”
The Condobolin Rams Seniors play their first game of the season away against Peak Hill on May 1.
The juniors and women’s tag teams start the following week at home against Grenfell.
